Nikka Taketsuru Non Age is a Japanese whiskey that pays homage to Masataka Taketsuru, the father of Japanese whiskey and Nikka's founder. Pure malt whiskey is a mix of barrels from Nikka's two distilleries in northern Japan: Yoichi and Miyagikyo.
TASTING NOTE
Golden color with pink tone. The nose is attractive, fresh and fruity. We perceive freshly squeezed fruit juice, peach notes and juicy grapes. It opens progressively in fine pastry and biscuit notes. The malted barley becomes more present and leaves out the citrus aromas. A touch of oak and rustic notes unite everything. The palate includes coffee, licorice, toasted oak and a slow-burning cigar. It is a vigorous, assertive and inflexible whiskey. All the way we find licorice sweets and a refined bitterness. The ending eventually fades into malted barley notes.
AGING
To achieve this level of balance and complexity they are based on a wide variety of styles of whiskey and evolving into barrels of ex-sherry.
